Please meet "a saucerful", Anne. I would like to make my defintion of minimalism say that the art of minimalism is reducing one geometric thing to it's utmost simplicity thereby telling a complete story. Few people who dabble in minimalism can achieve this even when they try. I find Anne's minimalism to be consistent with the definitions and very consistent to it's own niche. I discovered Anne through "remember moments" contacts and have held on tight to her photo stream ever since. Her images are simple, direct, singluar of subject and always rich and deep. I always want to write a short story inspired by her pictures but decide to keep my response as simple as her approach to her subjects. There is a joy and a respect for everything she shoots that permeates her pictures and helps me to remain positive and focused through my day. I pass by things all day that Anne would shoot and make worthy through her art and she reminds me to look at the little things, the abandoned and forgotten things, at rocks and broken glass and blades of grass as whole entities with histories and tales to tell. I encourage all to emulate Anne's choice of minimalism but warn that it is not an easy task. She makes it look easy and that is the sign of true art. Once in awhile a new item for her collection of numbers will show up. Maybe you can get the secret of her obsession with numbers out of her! I just enjoy the pictures. Thanks, Anne, for simplicity and clarity, hope and serenity! written for Sala de Luna Group.
