RECYCLE, REUSE, REPURPOSE AND RE-IMAGINE

Chiera Slavicz is my social media name....

My RL name is Anna Buxton and I am a musician and artist.... Also a happy snapper - definitely not a photographer, but I work on the principle that if you take enough shots, you occasionally hit the jackpot. I totally respect the most imaginative, precise and artistic photographers showing their work.

I enjoy taking action dancing shots in Second Life.

These are examples of my work... I am a mixed media artist . I used acrylic, watercolour and digital mediums.

My canvases, frames and some equipment are sourced from second hand stores, recycling centres and dollar stores; mainly from necessity... My philosophy is to try to re-imagine second hand canvases and pay tribute to the original artist by leaving part of the original artwork as part of each painting. I find a lot of frames of people's embroidery projects and I feel it's such a shame to throw away something someone spent so much time creating... I am currently working on a mixed media piece using these needlework projects. Still a concept though.

I swing from light, breezy, fun themes to, often, darker topics. Not everyone's taste. My art is my way of expressing how I interact with the world around me. I AM a positive and optimistic person generally.

Recently I have taken up digital expression. Mostly this is from necessity. Due to the high cost of living paint and canvases have become a luxury, so I am exploring the world of digital art and also enjoying looking back on some photographic memories in a different way.
