Drag to set position!
When not on flickr, I am a front-end software developer, and UX designer, mum of one, and a wife.
I love to go out and just be outdoors. I truly enjoy the beauty of any season and always find something fascinating. I am glad that my son enjoys to tag along just as much when I go hiking. We both collected many kilometers (or miles) and climbed many meters of elevation over the past 10 years we had been doing this together. I hope we have much more ahead of us.
I do try to educate with my collection of plants photos. I truly believe that if you get to know what wonders exist in nature, you will love them and want to protect them. If you never heard of them, or know little about them, you will not care about them. But I know that no amount of photography makes up for actually going outside. Photos are only reminders that there is beauty outside that should be experienced with all senses: smell, sounds, temperature, humidity, the wind, the touch of wet grass, dry leaves or a mossy bark... – because this is eventually where we belong.
Additionally, I am also convinced that amassing information on the internet about our ecosystems will help to evaluate and research them. Crowd sourcing for science! Therefore I tag my plants with scientific names and add geo tags, too. On some very rare plants I am not precise with the geo tags – for their protection.
I do try to be nice and respond to comments and give back visits, but please understand that my time on flickr is limited due to my regularly busy day with above mentioned activities. I might be slow with answering when life gets in between. I really appreciate real communication with people on flickr, and I am not very much into groups with comment duties. I do prefer real interest, as I also try to give that to my friends and contacts here on flickr.
I am also very thankful for those friendships I made here on flickr. With some old-time members I have been in contact for many years. They are true friendships I learned to treasure.
