My ongoing creative goal involves aestheticizing the suburbs. Bring out why and how we live here, because so many of us do. These cities are the backdrops of our lives, but in photographs (as in so many other forms of art) we shun our hometowns. We want the pure expanse of the rural wild , or the gritty density of the truly urban. Maybe the in-between is boring to us because it is, definitionally, everyday. But maybe we just aren't looking close enough.
