My name is Andrzej Mostowski, Andrew in English, but I go by Andy. I started taking photos in the early 1970's. My first camera was a Zorkij, a Russian knock off of Leica. My black and white photo lab was in my bathtub: a large cutting board across the tub supported the enlarger, the trays with the developer, the stop bath and fixer were placed underneath. To my mother’s disappointment, I could never get the stains out of the surface of the tub. The stains only worsened when I started processing color prints. Back then I shot some weddings to support my hobby and did some photo assignments for school when I was a student at Krakow Politechnic School. The reward was an access to concerts and other events. When I left Poland I found work in photolabs in various cities such as Jerusalem, Athens, Calgary and Ottawa. After settling in Ottawa, Ontario, I worked as a wedding photographer for a few years. I got tired of it, and as a result, it has taken me a few years to get back to photography and to focus on it as a hobby once more.
