I'm not sure if Andy is gently teasing us when he says he 'would like to be good at art', or if he's just a very modest man. I have only recently acquainted myself with his work - work in which he pushes the basic elements of his imagery to the limit, manipulating them into organic, dynamic forms which are truly exciting. However - and this is, I think, the important thing - he knows when to stop. Keeping a tight and disciplined focus, he never descends into rambling abstraction or sloppy psychedelia. His work combines imagination and restraint. Andy - if you think you're not yet good at art, then I'm really looking forward to seeing what you do in the future!
