I come from a fine art background and would use photography as source material for paintings and drawings, taking pictures instinctively using more luck than judgement.

My interest in photography has grown since then and I have gradually taken more interest in the technical side of it, in order to rely less on luck and more on judgement! I still trust my instincts and keep them at the forefront as it is very easy to let science and technique bog you down to the point where you forget about the simple pleasure of seeing and capturing.

I am very drawn to night photography and the amount of experimentation it offers. I have always been interested in the natural world and enjoy the unpredictability of wildlife photography.

I am very much a beginner and have a lot to learn but am enjoying picking things up gradually both through necessity and curiosity.
