For a while, this account was devoted to our 'business' venture, Livesey Photography. Now that we've got our website up and running, we can reclaim this space for ourselves. Maybe that's what we need right now. For a good length of time we lost our love of photography. That may have been partly because of our most recent forray into weddings. It's tough when you're asked to do a job, assuming you've been hired because of your artistic vision and individuality, then have to spend most of the time doing the same old group shots, arranging drunk relatives like a dog herding cats... that's before the post-processing and album production. Your work, that you've put body and soul into gets thrashed and trashed. The final product looks great, but it's hard not to take the coments personally. Photos you thought captured a person's essence, dismissed because the bride didn't like their facial expression. That's not to invalidate their opinion - taste is that wonderfully subjective beast, it's just a bit... personal.

 

We shoot digital, manual focus, film, new, vintage, expired, macro, wide angle, telephoto, colour, black and white, cross-processed.... People, objects, views, feelings, events, emotions....

 

Most of our photos are of our children, but you'll only see most of those if we trust you enough. They're beautiful, photogenic little people and they make great models, so hell, why not take advantage, right?
