Hello,
I hope you enjoy looking through my photos and thanks for showing an interest in my work. I live and work in Derby in the English Midlands, famed for Rolls-Royce and the railways. Working in the rail industry myself I like to escape from behind the desk and capture some shots of the 'real' railway from time to time which you will see on my photostream with the occasional exposure appearing in publications.
My camera history started back in the late 80's with a second hand Olympus OM1, a great camera which I found hard to give up. When time allows(probably never!) I intend to scan the best negatives and upload these images. A stint living in the States during 2001/02 saw me buy my first digital camera, an original Canon Powershot S100. The image quality was nothing compared to the OM1, but the ease of which I could email images home convinced me digital cameras were going to be the future. I've stuck with Canon ever since, upgrading to a Powershot S40, S70 and finally the Powershot S90 I have today. The quality and versatility which has been packed into these small devices continually amazes. My very latest purchase in summer 2012 was a second hand Nikon D60 with basic lenses and filters. I'm still learning how to get the best out of it!
All photos are my own work and please ask before using any of my images. The answer will almost certainly be yes as long as it is credited. Please do not use photos without permission and claim it is your own work, this is theft. Yes, that does include selling prints on eBay.
If anyone wants to contact me feel free to use Flickr Mail and I will do my best to get back to you.
