I've always been interested in photography, and always have tried to take decent pictures with my point-and-shoot cameras, but only in the past couple of years or so have I started to take it more seriously. In January 2008, my P&S camera was replaced with a Nikon D40, with the 18-55mm kit lens. From there I added a Sigma 10-20mm wide angle lens, a Sigma 50-150mm lens, and more recently, a Nikkor 50mm f1.8 and Nikkor 35mm f2.0 (I never thought I would like prime lenses so much!). Eventually I retired my D40 and replaced it with a D300, which is a truly amazing camera!. My latest interest has been in strobist photography (the use of several small flashes, off camera), which led me to picking up some Vivitar 285HV flashes, light stands, umbrellas and Cactus V2S RF triggers (now replaced with Cybersync triggers).

Besides photography, I'm into music (I play guitar in a rock band - mostly cover songs in local pubs and bars), and during the day I work in computers/IT.
