"L'inferno dei viventi non è qualcosa che sarà; se ce n'è uno, è quello che è già qui,
l'inferno che abitiamo tutti i giorni, che formiamo stando insieme. Due modi ci sono per
non soffrirne. Il primo riesce facile a molti: accettare l'inferno e diventarne parte fino al
punto di non vederlo più. Il secondo è rischioso ed esige attenzione e apprendimento
continui: cercare e saper riconoscere chi e cosa, in mezzo all'inferno, non è inferno, e farlo
durare, e dargli spazio"
- Italo Calvino, le Città Invisibili
“The inferno of the living is not something that will be; if there is one, it is what is already here, the inferno where we live every day, that we form by being together. There are two ways to escape suffering it. The first is easy for many: accept the inferno and become such a part of it that you can no longer see it. The second is risky and demands constant vigilance and apprehension: seek and learn to recognize who and what, in the midst of inferno, are not inferno, then make them endure, give them space.”

Read lessI am happy to lose myself in the double images of Anandamide / Giuliano. With all good art you can lose yourself in the moment: place and time no longer exist, or are they interchangeable ..? The play of light and the poetry of images of everyday subjects always make me return to his photostream. Thank you!
Great photos, it is a pleasure to enjoy your gallery, thank you for sharing.
I crept among the reeds and gravel, passing the buzzing wings which shimmered with variegated wonder. A green suited man was shouting in the breeze and halted as I approached. "Hi ho old man, where'd you get those tremendous pants, must've taken 50 sheep to make ones so long in the leg." "Ah, they're just hand-me-dow… Read more

Anandamide’s work is at once dark and surreal, yet filled with humor and mystery of a strange and welcoming kind - like an old long lost family photo album recently discovered to reveal a past which has occurred in a parallel universe. An Alice in Wonderland meets Diane Arbus meets Dali (meets Kafka too). Coming across Anadamide work convinces me that photo-montage has limitless potential to express; indeed the collage and montage genre is only beginning to be tapped, and Anadamide is one of most talented practitioners I have ever seen. Thank you Anandamide for sharing your pictures, and thank you Flickr for giving me the opportunity to see this wonderfully enchanting work.

Anandamide is a true, genuine artist in the truest most genuine sense of the word in that his work is unique and beautiful and totally without precedent. He uses the tools of modern technology to craft an art which is warm and nourishing and human in his able hands, somehow avoiding the crass coldness that such technology can often produce, to give us instead these images of resonant, human whimsy and mystery that are always delightful to behold, and satisfying for the soul. Time spent with his images is time happily spent. He does not waste our time with his work, but instead delivers these solidly jubilant and timeless pictures that enable all of us to feel a little better about ourselves as we journey through this exploration of imagery and sound and music and emotion which is our daily lives.
