I'm an eclectic photographer..
During Medical School I started to make animation movies and became a member of a Dutch experimental movie collective. One of my animation movies made it to the Museum of Modern Art (Stedelijk Museum) in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
Furthermore I did - in the eighties of the past century - camera in a few videoclips and concert registrations of in those days popular bands/artists like Santana, Level 42, The Commodores, Kid Creole & the Coconuts, Divine and Latoya Jackson.
The main issue in my (candid) portrait photographs is about trying to capture the decisive emotional moment. The treatment is sometimes surreal in order to confuse regular cognitions or to increase impact. I try to do my own thing.

i love amsters photography, i love the tight crop of his portraits and the way he captures people in a moment, amster reminds me of alistair thains photos of people, up close and tight cropped. amsterdamned is a great insperation to me and a great photographer.
