I'm a shutterbug obsessed with nature and landscapes. I love candid portraits although I'm hardly successful at capturing them. I am a total chowhound, so when I make decent-looking food, I photograph it. And if I'm really lucky, it only takes a few frames to get the shot before the food gets cold.

I have a Nikon 3200 with the 18-135mm lens, plus an f/1.2 50mm and an f/1.8 105mm manual focus. The prime lenses are fantastic for low-light, but usually result in very soft focus. But that's good for the artsy shots and portraits.

Up until late March 2006 I used a very capable Nikon Coolpix 3100. I carried a Nikon Coolpix P2 until May 2010 (yes, a shutterbug waited 4 years to upgrade her point-and-shoot) when I crossed over to the Panasonic side and upgraded to a Lumix DMC-ZS7. Five words: high definition video with zoom.
