My name is Amanda,

I live in Stockholm, this gorgeous capital of Sweden. I grew up also in another beautiful city, 'The Eastern Pearl', Hong Kong and I studied womenswear in London College of Fashion. I am a multi faceted designer - graphic design, illustrator, web design, fashion & accessory design are but a few of my interests, as well as painting.

Handcrafted jewelery is one of my hobbies and"Yu Design" was launched in 2006 in Sweden and has been running quite successfully since. The little icon in the left top corner, represents my family name “Yu”. It's inspiration came from an ancient Chinese character.

This is not just a business but also a platform for me to develop my new ideas freely and be playful. There is always something I would like to learn. It is not easy but it is a pleasant challenge.

When I make a design or do a painting. I only follow my instinct, not the trend, because I believe following the trend isn’t creative. Therefore, music is one of the essential elements for my creativity.

Anyway, mix and match! On this platform, I have the freedom to create things and experiment with them. That is the greatest joy of all. Even though they fail sometimes, the satisfaction of one successful product is also the greatest encouragement. Do you think so? :)
