The thing about photography that sets people apart is timing and feeling. Most people can't feel those emotions one might have, and Amanda can capture that in every photo. I've been lurking her stuff for awhile now, and it is very inspiring. Keep up the awesome work.

There is a feminine, gentle atmosphere to her photograph. I think that I "comfortable" whenever I watch her photograph. I'm attracted very much by her world and eyes.

Amanda is just magnificent! I love all of her photos. Before even reading her profile, I already knew she was talented and very much skilled. Amanda is just magnificent! I love all of her photos. Before even reading her profile, I already knew she was talented and very much skilled. Then I read her profile and was like, wow not only is she self-taught but the talent is deeply invented in her genes. Carried on her from her parents to her, I think she's doing a spectacular job! Every single image is so beautiful. I have so much fun looking at them- I always smile or laugh or just am in awe of how great the photo actually is. I can't wait to see what next she has in store. My personal favorites are her macro shots and her self portraits. They are so beautiful, every time- she never seems to disappoints. I love your photos, Amanda! You're definitely an inspiration. So, keep inspiring and never stop.

Amanda tried to sell me another burrito, but I told her 4 was my limit for lunch. Then she tried to push horchata, and to that I said no grasias. She was a persistent little cuss, but I kind of liked it. She and her mom ran the restaurant which the family had owned since it opened in LA in 1508 when the majority of the Native Americans decided to pack up and leave the area because of the lack of naturally growing herbs and the fact they were being slaughtered. Their business didn't flourish for the first couple hundred years because their recipes for Mexican food were influenced heavily by their German roots, rather than the people from the homeland. Then one day, a man by the name of Baptista Juan Carlos Miguel Armando Kyle Sanchez happened upon their tiny restaurant and made a suggestion to change their bratwurst burritos to this new-fangled "carnitas" recipe he had heard about down in Encinada. They changed and instantly they were a success. And only in the past 20 years have they achieved the popularity they could have had for many years. But at the time Amanda had been working with pinhole cameras on the side as a hobby since she habitually smelled of enchilada sauce, spanish rice and antifreeze. She ended up getting pretty good at it and left the family business for a while to pursue this hobby more full time. I happened upon her one day while she was out shooting palm trees in a freak snow storm in LA. She had upgraded to digital pinhole cameras, which although oxymoronic was better than making burritos. We sat and talked a while she made shot after shot. Her results were astonishing. Then out of no where, I got man-slapped and she left. I followed her back to the restaurant where I saw several of her printed works on display. She had never been watched while photographing, and thus was uneasy, and thus the slap. She made it up to my by making a fantastic burrito. This was 23 years ago and I now only found her again. If you have a chance to meet her or take photos with her, you'll see the passion that is in her. She's full of love, fun and some pretty awful horchata.
