I am not one of those photographers who have been photographing things all their lives, or has had a natural attraction to cameras. They've been around in my life, but I never thought of myself as a photographer until about a year ago. I have, however, always been attracted to art, but could never find that perfect fit. I flitted about in just about everything from the time I was old enough to hold a pencil, from drawing and painting, writing, jewelry, and now photography. Photography is that perfect fit for me, I'm home.
I am a people person, so much so that I am getting my degree in Psychology in hopes of helping people for a living as a counselor. Portraits
that freeze a story, a facet of person's personality, and an emotion are what drive me. Anything else is worthless and soul-less.
I also have been a SCUBA diver since I was 12 and capture views of the ocean not many people can experience, in hopes that people will take action to conserve it and treasure what we have.
Sometimes, I even combine the two and create underwater portraiture. You have many opportunities in the weightless environment. Things float that normally do not. Light is different, more playful. For those who enjoy being in water, their inner children can come out to play. They can be different people underwater than they are on land.
