Alphabet Arm Design officially opened it's doors in November of 2001. Founded by Aaron Belyea (A.K.A. Alphabet Arm—his design moniker), a self-proclaimed, self-taught fellow who had been designing commercially since 1994. Starting as a free-lancer he worked with a number of local bands (since then he's worked with a who's who list of local and national rock, hip hop, recording studios, radio stations, record stores, artist management companies, record labels and businesses). Honing his style and learning the various printing and production ropes he was hired to build and oversee the design department for the Planetary Group (a radio / music promotion company). While there Aaron developed his undying love for soy milk as well as a niche market focusing on music-based design and a loyal client base which has followed him since. In 2003 Alphabet Arm has added the fresh-faced Ryan Frease to the mix. A brash, young and devilishly talented designer. Ryan graduated from the Ringling School of Art and Design. After testing the waters in Florida he decided to move north and begin full time work at Alphabet Arm. 2007 came along and what the heck, the ABC’ers decided to keep the good times rolling with Connecticut native Chris Piascik joining the ranks. If Chris was a recipe, he would be four parts skull, two parts balloon. Which may explain why he has a knack for designing the sweetest merch this side of Waterbury. Chris graduated from the Hartford Art School at the University of Hartford, where he currently teaches a design course. It’s also important for you to know that he has a deep-seated hatred for mayonnaise and mice. With 2008 comes the addition of Ira Cummings to the team. Emerging from the frigid north woods of Vermont, Ira arrives with a diverse skillset and a knack for creative design. He's a lover of all vegetables and the only avid skateboard commuter in the studio. If you need a magical, mystical widget or super duper plug-in, Ira's the man! As a graduate of Syracuse University and a veteran of several small studios, Ira comes to ABC ready to mix it up.
Aaron, Ryan, Chris & Ira are ready and willing to solve any design problem you may have. From logo & identity design, CD art direction, office system solutions, poster design, merchandise design, advertising campaigns, marketing collateral, signage, you name it.
