I live in Frinton on Sea, I love great design and all things art deco.

Posting some of the buildings I have taken pictures of, modern, art deco type of houses over the last 30 years or so. Since joining Flickr I have been switched on to more post war house design 1950s and 60s etc.

Now retired, I don't travel like I did, but like to keep a watchful eye on what's happening to the amazing group of modernist style houses we have here.

Finally remember the best camera, is the one you have when that special picture needs to be captured.

I first came on Flickr in an attempt to rekindle my long held fascination with photography......and particularly for Twentieth Century houses and landscapes. I thought I was the only one with such an interest and it would all be photoshop effects and beautiful moody landscapes which were way out of my reach, but I was willing to learn ! I encountered very quickly Al, who encouraged through emails and support my interest. With each successive photograph and house I discovered, Al would encourage with utter generosity both of spirit and knowledge. For that I will always be indebted to him... Seeing a new posting from Al is like finding another new friend...and another humorous pic title....he has a depth of knowledge and an archive of old photographs from years back, which he started long before the creation of this thing called Flickr, which are utterly invaluable to an academic like me and reveal Al to be the true original on Flickr of all things Modernist and Art Deco. He is far more than a mere point and shoot Gazetteer follower ! Yet Al continues with no more agenda than the furtherance of knowledge and the excitement of a new 'flat top' with each new discovery! Always courteous and generous, as so many are on Flickr, and I am thrilled to call so many of these friends now after a year......but Al has proven himself to be so much more on so many levels....without question a Flickr master.....
