I just recently purchased my first dslr , a Canon Rebel XS.

Its opened up this whole new world of picture taking and I totally love it.

I have grown up with many relatives in my family doing photography but my main inspiration for getting serious about it was my Grandmother, who passed away from breast cancer back in June of 2002.

A trunk that we have had in our kitchen for a long time was recently moved into my room. This trunk holds my Grandmother's belongings. After going through it a few times and finding her old photos, undeveloped film and antique cameras, it seemed to hit me that this too was something I've wanted to do my whole life.

Not to say that photography is my life calling, but it is something that I love and will continue to share with the people that I love.
