Heaven help this poor planet and its hapless, helpless, non-human citizens.

There are people hell bent on sending manned expeditions to the moon and mars when we don't know much about life on land, much less anything about the deep seas that cover most of this planet. Others pipe dream of communicating with aliens when we might better try to learn the language of sperm whales - before we reverse the ocean currents and kill them off. The fact that life exists on this plant at all is nothing short of a miracle. The odds tell us that we are very alone in our corner of the universe and, as they say, there is no planet B.
