Drag to set position!
I graduated from Loughborough University in 2000 with a degree in fine art: sculpture, since then I have been living in Woking, working in a small studio in my garden. I work mainly in metal using birds, animals, insects and plants as my subject matter and I often take my inspiration from children's stories, poems or illustrations. I want to create sculptures that are fun to look at so I try to give my work a sense of quirkiness often using bright colours or awkward poses to achieve this.
I cut all of my work from sheet metal using tin snips and a guillotine, then I hammer the pieces into shape and weld them together, before painting or varnishing the finished piece.
I sell my work through various galleries, craft fairs, Etsy and my own website and I exhibit regularly with the Surrey Sculpture Society and the Surrey Guild of Craftsmen. I also have my work on display at the Pride of the Valley Sculpture Park and I often run sculpture workshops at schools around Surrey.
