I am a procrastinator, nature nerd, occasional traveler, and generally lazy opportunist.

I also am trying to make a go at being a quasi-successful biologist/ecologist; however it takes a lot to break in to the field. So much so that I'm working for another interest now: carbon. Still, the same weird life plays out, I work, I go to really cool places, I don't have my camera, or I don't have the time to use my camera. So mostly, on my amazing work-hiking or work-travel adventures, I stick to the game plan, which is to do work and miss out on the amazing photos; like the deer fawn in the grass, or the yellow lady's slipper; OR I end up running away from angry bison instead of asking them to pose for the camera! ...or it's so late out, by the time I get to escape the meetings that the nature I so love to enjoy is cloaked in an un-photogenic darkness.

Additionally, when one is packing lightly to trudge through the bush for hours on end (or hoof it across Europe...), one typically packs only a crap-camera, if anything. So you're seeing the world (what I remember to photograph of it) through the lens of my out-of-date digital point n' shoot.

For some slightly earlier stuff, feel free to stop by the other flickr page I set up before I forgot my password (ha!) at www.flickr.com/photos/fallenfarfromthetree/, or alison fell in my contacts list.

Thanks for stopping by!
