I have a passionate interest in both history and politics. I'm a graduate of the London School of Economics and hold a PhD from the Department of Sociology at the University of Essex, but I learned far more about the world and about injustice and inequality, while living in Egypt and particularly during two months confinement at Cairo's Tora prison.
