I miei natali mi portano a Borgia, paese di collina affacciato sul mare Ionio in Calabria.

 

La fotografia mi ha incuriosito fin da bambino ma la mia infanzia è trascorsa all'insegna di un'altra arte che ancora oggi coltivo con la stessa passione e dedizione di un tempo: la musica. Pianoforte, sintetizzatori virtuali, theremin e dal 2010 il didgeridoo.

 

Nel 2005, spinto dalla voglia di immortalare istanti della mia vita e del mondo che mi circonda, ho acquistato la mia prima Reflex: una Nikon D50. Una decisione che in un modo o nell'altro mi ha segnato, oltre ad essere l'inizio del mio amore per una casa che non ho più abbandonato: la NIKON. Nel giro di pochi anni, quella che era una semplice curiosità si è trasformata in passione pura e poi in ragione di vita... All'aumentare dell'interesse per la fotografia è aumentata anche la mia attrezzatura professionale che ho esteso giorno dopo giorno con tanti sacrifici.

 

Conseguita la laurea in Scienze Politiche all'Università di Pisa, nel 2007 mi sono trasferito in Lussemburgo dove ho avuto modo di frequentare i corsi di fotografia del CIEL (Club Photo des Institutions Européennes à Luxembourg). La particolare posizione geografica del paese mi ha inoltre permesso di entrare in contatto con diverse realtà (Francia, Germania, Belgio, Olanda), con diversi soggetti e con differenti modi di fare fotografia.

 

Dal 2009 risiedo a Parigi, culla e patria della fotografia, metropoli il cui eterno movimento fa si che una strada appaia in modo completamente differente il giorno prima da quello dopo. Città da

vivere a piedi camminando e perdendosi nelle miriadi di rue, quai,

boulevard e avenue.

 

Parigi ha contribuito a modellare la mia concezione della fotografia: adoro i paesaggi, i bianco neri, i ritratti, gli infrarossi, le unioni panoramiche; ma in particolare adoro tutta una categoria di fotografie che amo racchiudere sotto il termine "street photo" (foto di strada): reportage, istantanee, racconti di viaggi, immagini dove nulla è preparato, dove i soggetti non sono in posa ma sono presi alla sprovvista o avvisati all'ultimo istante. La realtà nella sua essenza, che io mi limito a registrare.

 

Nel Novembre 2010 ho partecipato al mio primo concorso internazionale di fotografia, "PHOTO 2010 - Le plus grand concours PHOTO du monde 2010" organizzato dalla nota rivista francese PHOTO superando le 2 selezioni previste e sfiorando le finali.

 

Nel Giugno 2011 la serie fotografia "Les Péres du genre humain" è stata scelta come PX3 OFFICIAL SELECTION al concorso internazionale "PX3 Prix de la Photographie à Paris"

 

Il 18 Settembre 2011 la fotografia "Volando sui cieli di Parigi" ha ottenuto il 1° PREMIO nella sezione SPORT del concorso fotografico "REFLEX WINNER 2011"

My origins drive me back to Borgia, a hill town which looks on to the Ionian sea.

 

When I was a child, photography aroused my curiosity many times, but my childhood was devoted to an other sublime art: the music. A passion that still today I’m devoted to with the same intensity of the past: piano, virtual sinthesizers, theremin and new entry since 2010, the didgeridoo!

 

In year 2005, pushed by the desire for freezing instants of my life and of the world around me, I bought my first reflex camera: a Nikon D50. A decision that, in one way or another, has left a mark in my life becoming the beginning of my love for a brand I never left: NIKON. In a couple of years the simple curiosity began first a strong passion and then a reason for life. With the growing of my interest for the photography, also my equipment moved step by step, day after day, from entry level to professional.

 

In year 2007 after the Degree in Political Science at Università di Pisa I moved to Luxembourg, where I had the opportunity to attend some photographic courses held by CIEL (Club Photo des Institutions Européennes à Luxembourg). The favorable geographic position of the country put me in touch with various realities (like France, Germany, Belgium, and Holland), various subjects, and various ways of practicing photography.

 

Since 2009 I’ve been living in Paris, cradle and land of photography, metropolis whose never ending ferment makes a street completely different one day from another. It is not imaginable to drive in Paris,

you must walk through the thousands of “rue”, “quai” and “boulevard”

to live the city as it is in reality!

 

Paris gave a fundamental contribute to the building of my concept of photography: I like landscapes, B&W, portraits, Infrared, panoramic stitching, but what I love the most is the category of shoots I named “street pictures”: reportages, snapshots, travel stories, pictures taken “by change”, where subjects are not posing or shoot by surprise. It is the essence of reality in a single short moment that I try to capture and freeze.

 

In November 2010 I competed in my first international photographic competition, "PHOTO 2010 - Le plus grand concours PHOTO du monde 2010", organized by the well known French magazine PHOTO, passing the initial 2 selection steps and getting very close to the finals.

 

In June 2011 my book "Les Péres du genre humain" (The Fathers of the Humankind) received PX3 OFFICIAL SELECTION award during the international "PX3 Prix de la Photographie à Paris"

 

On September the 18th 2011 the picture “Flying over the skies of Paris” received the 1st PRIZE in the SPORT section of the photographic competition "REFLEX WINNER 2011"
