Alfie has a unique approach to street photography, which has been inspiring to me and to several friends who share my respect for his work. His aptitude to capture the moment and frame it in a perfect manner, is of the highest level. The fact the he is, in addition of a very gifted photograph, a very kind person is the bonus (or the cherry on the cake) ! I am looking forward for the upcoming book(s) he will publish.

Alfie, Alfie, Alfie Bumped into Alfie in the press club out in Tokyo. Hit it off from the start, there has not been a photographer who has inspired me more, or taught me more about the art for that matter. The kommander of bokeh, he has an innate ability to create beauty out of the simplest of things. Look out for a strange looking man lurking around Shibuya, probably taking photos of taxis. If you see him, I urge you to take him out for a pint, or at least buy him one from me. A great guy to go out shooting with, watch out though, you will get jealous. Not long now 'til our photojournalistic collaborations take over the world. That and us owning the nikon house in Ginza.

Every time I come to see what new work Alfie has done, I come away so inspired, and at the same time I feel so unaccomplished. Without trying to sound jealous, I wish I had his eyes to see the pictures he composes and his diligence to accomplish such outstanding works. I do know that I am learning from him, and I am glad he puts his efforts here where I can see what a D300 can do.

Alfie, is one of the most talented photographers I have found on Flickr. Many times I will see technically astute images sorely lacking in qualities of emotion and on the other hand I see emotive images that could be greatly improved with a bit more tecnical savy, like mine for instance. :) Alfie's work masters both and that's why I think he is one of the best I've seen on here, I enjoy his images immensely!
