The first time I view Alf's photostream I was very astonished not just about the subject, the technic of photography, colours but also how she composed the whole capture. Alf has made Iceland looks like a heaven on earth from winter to summer and all year through. She cleverly captured every single subject in detail and I admire her commitment. “I first met Álfheiður soon after discovering the joy of photography and Flickr. She is one of my earliest contacts. I realised, very early on that we had a lot in common, especially humour. I had no Icelandic. She had some English. Now I understand a little Icelandic. Her English is excellent. This obviously shows what a good teacher I am….LOL. Seriously, I have learned much from Álfheiður, not only about processing imagesbut also about composition and how to add impact to a shot by being creative and original. Her country is a dramatic and beautiful place and she takes full advantage of this in her photography. She is expert in extracting the right hues to suit the mood of her work. The blues of the seas and skies in her photography are amazing. The sky from her kitchen window changes constantly.... You can almost smell the coffee…. I look forward again to her `winter` photography, especially the magical aurora borealis she captures so well and travels so far to get. Oh, ….. and her Imagine Peace Tower shots?
