"The difference between difficult and impossible is that impossible takes longer. Miracles just require faith."

My passion for photography was born during my 6 months stay in New Zealand in 2005. When I got back to Italy I thought I wanted to learn photography so I could show everyone the beautiful places and people I met in my trips. I began reading some basic books on photography and I am continuously self-learning.

In April 2007 I was diagnosed with acute promyelocitic leukemia. I have been in hospital until December 2007. When I got home my father bought me a Nikon D80 with which I could finally practice on what I had read during my long stay in hospital. I chose Nikon as my father was a passionate photographer when he was younger and he owns many lenses that I can use. We used to have a darkroom in our house when I was a kid.

In June 2008 my disease relapsed and I had to enter hospital again. As of July 30 the current therapies seem to have worked so I will be able to go home soon. In September I will go back in the hospital to undergo a bone marrow transplant, necessary at this stage.

MAY 2009 - I have completed my bone marrow transplant successfully, read more at www.beat-leukemia.org

I am working on photos that I took while I was outside and trying to upload as often as I can. Since I am learning I would be grateful to receive comments on how to improve my photography, whether as comments to the photos or flickr mail.

So my dad wanted to celebrate and bought me a D700 body, which is obviously too much for my skills at the moment but it really made my day (and week and month:) and I hope I'll be good enough for it asap!
