Alex Ryer - I am married to Jenny, and we have 3 wonderful kids (Graham, Maddy, Paige) as well as 2 rambunctious hunting hounds (Willow and Buddy). I am chief investment officer at Rhumbline Advisers in Boston, MA. I am also an avid tennis and platform tennis player. We live in Winchester, MA.
My cameras are a Nikon Df, which I really love, and a Nikon D300 which my son is learning to use. I prefer fast prime lenses, like the 20mm f/2.8D, 35mm f/2D, 50mm f/1.2 AI-S. I just bought the new 50mm f/1.8 lens, and it is really sharp, although I miss using the aperture ring. My favorite bokeh lens is the 105mm f/2.0 DC portrait lens, which lets you distort the character of the blur. I bought a 300mm f/4 for a safari trip, which rocks - especially when coupled with a 1.4x teleconverter. Lastly, I am a big fan of the 500mm f/8 AI reflex lens and rock that out with a 2x teleconverter (on a Gitzo monopod) - It is an elegantly compact design, and creates some unique (sometimes distracting) donut bokeh.
