I joined flickr to show my photographs taken with older film cameras, but painting and drawing have edged photography out of my life. I drew a lot as a child and discovered photography as a teenager, which taught me a lot about composition. Drawing went away then but I rediscovered it in graduate school and have never stopped since then, always sketching when I travel and now more and more even when I don't travel. I have a "real" job as an academic in Classics (Latin and Greek).
