I believe I am now doing what I do best: shooting urban landscapes mostly at sunset with a proclivity for panoramas. I find myself following, with deviations, the "inhumanist" philosophy of the poet Robinson Jeffers.
I was once a street photographer. I considered the bulk of my work as documentary. Saw myself as a historian of the passing moment.. All of my candid photography was predicated on discovering epiphanies. "Epiphany" is a term James Joyce used to describe the moments in his fiction when a profound insight in life was brought about by a seemingly trivial or commonplace event. This is similar to the philosophy of Cartier-Bresson. .I abandoned street photography long ago.
I have always been prone to artistic whimsy, most notably seen in my preoccupation with sunsets, which I photograph from my livingroom balcony.. I also photograph cats
My influences: Paul Cezanne, James Joyce, William Faulkner, Anton Chekhov, Heni Cartier Bresson, Walker Evans, Brasai, Georgia O'Keefe, Robert Frank and many others.
Street Scenes, etc.
