Hi, I'm back! Returning here to my original 2006 Flickr account. Thanks for checking out my photos! I'd like to think that my photos visually convey a feeling, a mood, emotion, or a vibe. I'm getting there but still working on it!

Currently in 2026, my daily carry is a Nikon D3000 (CCD sensor!) with 18-55mm lens. It's the smallest, lightest DSLR rig possible.

I'm a practicing architect living in Portland, Oregon, and I've fiddled with cameras and photography my entire life, with some extended breaks here and there. My journey has taken me from a humble Keystone 125 Instamatic camera in the early 1970s, to manual 35mm SLR's in high school, to my first SLR the Olympus OM-1, to pro level gear in college and later. A lot of my shots are just "shots." But along the way I learned to compose, to use light, contrast, texture, juxtaposition and depth of field. And you know, as one of my mentor's once said, "Sometimes the magic works!"

I still shoot many Nikon and Fujifilm X. My current everyday camera is a 17-year old Nikon D3000 with a newer version of the 18-55mm VR II lens (super light and compact!). I also have a Nikon D60, D90 and D700 with a wide range of F-mount lenses (both AF and manual).

My Fujifilms are the X-T2 and X-Pro2 with a variety of X-mount lenses, including TTartisan manual focus lenses.

Feel free to leave comments!

I appreciate your time,

Byron
