There are many great photographers out there, but not nearly a hand full, which really inspire me. Alex is one of these few persons, that are able to let me feel the connection to the things I see. It's also related to the frisian/dutch areas. I know from experience, that it isn't always easy to take pictures here, without falling into kinda monotony. I've seen many pictures of it, most of them let me think after the first three pictures"Just because it's flatness, it doesn't have to be flat". But Alex is able to hold me in line, his pictures are never boring for me, not even, when he takes them in series. For the first time I saw pictures of my surroundings, the way I feel them and this is rare. His pictures are full of colours and light, brilliant and always on a high quality standard. He creates a beautiful dynamic and nearly every of these pictures is accompanied by his great, dry sense of humor, which makes it not only a pleasure for my eyes but also a good workout for my musculus risorius. It also speaks for a charming and blossoming fantasy and a - greatly appreciated - portion of cleverness. If I am allowed to add something, dear Aapje, then this, that I hope, that you'll never lose the feeling for the things you do, while chasing the perfection. Now it is the perfect balance between technique and soul.
