Having used an ancient (well...1972) fully manual SLR with a 55mm prime lens for years (on and off), I've just bought my first digital SLR: Canon EOS 450D complete with unfeasibly large telephoto autofocus lens, which tries to do everything for me. All very confusing, but fun...er...what's it focusing on now?

 

I love street photography, but I'm very shy and self-conscious and this is not a good mixture, so I seem to end up photographing buildings and plants instead of people. In an effort to be less shy with a big, bulky SLR camera, I have purchased a Lumix LX5 which is small enough to carry around with me all the time.
