ALAN RIDLEY PAINTINGS

All of the portrait and figure drawings and watercolour paintings were done in one session directly from a live model at an art class.

All of the drawings and paintings are 56x38 cm. except the acrylics [Portugal, 72x56 cm Albufeira, 56x46 cm] and the Exmouth gouache which is 30x23 cm. Three portraits were inspired by Richard Burns photographs and these are acknowledged.

Previously a neurologist at the Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel, I resumed my interest in drawing the human figure and painting the figure when my wife and I retired to Exeter in 1997. I work from life class models and use watercolour in a loose impressionist way. The drawing or painting is completed in a single life class session. I became an associate member of the South West Academy of Fine art in 2017 and full member in 2021.
