JLS Photography - Alaska
Drag to set position!
I was born in the middle of upstate New York, on a cold blustery January day. I have lived in Trinidad BWI (down near the equator), North Carolina, Arizona, Colorado, and finally in my beloved state of Alaska. I have lived up here since 1976 residing in Eagle River, Anchorage, and Juneau. I currently live in "bush" Alaska, about 180 miles NE of Anchorage, and my neighbors are the animals that call this boreal forest their home.
Having spent much of my life traveling, and raising a large family - photography became a natural part of my everyday life. There were the milestones in my kids' lives as well as their achievements and antics - and I had to capture each and every one. Doc (my better half) and I - have crisscrossed the good old USA multiple times, and have done the same in Canada. Each time I made sure to document it all on video, or on still cameras. We have travelled over the Alaskan Highway fifty-three times and travelled over the Inside Passage aboard Alaska's State Ferries twelve times.
All photographers have a collection of cameras, and I am no exception. I do favor Sony for their exceptional results with regards to crisp, clear images - as well as the use of Carl Zeiss lenses. I also feel that it isn't the brand of camera that makes a person a good photographer - anymore than giving a person the best hammer would make him a good carpenter. You want to be a good photographer? Well, as they say; "practice makes perfect" - so get out and shoot something every day.
I want to thank everyone for their views, comments, and fave's on my images. It is all of you who inspire me to be a better photographer.
Best regards,
Jeanne
