A Little About Me…
For 23 years now I have called Alaska my home
I have spent a bunch of years with the local fire departments as a fire fighter, medic and photographer. Thus the name Akfirebug.
But after 5 back surgeries I have quit the departments and enjoy a fire with less work attached to it
I also enjoy heading out to the Dog races, but one can feel kind of small sometimes when I look around at all the other photographers with their fancy high dollar camera equipment, so I prefer to stay off the beaten path...
And when I am not taking photos I am out riding my bike...4 months out of the year anyway...
My photography has taken me to Thailand/Burma and Uganda/Congo borders working on the mission field, where I will go next, only God knows but I am ready! If I had a choice I would love to go to Russia!
I also run a German Shepherd Rescue since 2005
So at the end of the day its nice when I can relax and have a story read to me by one of my rescues
