I seem to come back to Aines pages time after time these days, so much seems to stay in my mind and I need to explore again. So much of it talkes to me, talkes to my senses.. There is a clear mind behind it all,I feel, and a strong continuity which I admire.Perhaps also a sense of moral duty to speak for those who lack a voice? But mostly that undefined quality which is impossible to pin down with words.,I like to call it an ability to create living symbols.I want to seperate that from historical symbols, where things are more locked to spesific meanings. Archetypes interest me, and I like to believe that when we are close to an autentic voice inside,we can touch upon a living symbol that connect with other people .This I think Aine does in her work. I think she moves freely among these inner voices, and is brave enough to portray them for all to see. I use the word brave, because I think it really costs something to stay in this modus year after year in this business, and still not compromise .It is not that her works are not pleasing to the eye, because they are to a high degree. But the harmony in colors and so on is NOT what carries them forward, and I don`t think that has been the incentment to make them. I like the boldness in mixing techniques, it speakes of a true curiosity which I think is a healthy approach. I really look forward to follow her work "behind the scene" Elisabeth Omdahl (printer from Norway)
