I'm from the Maldives. A small island-nation in the Indian Ocean, south of the southern tip of India and west of Sri Lanka. Very keen on photography since early eighties. I also enjoy wood working, fruit &and vegetable carving (self taught via youtube) I juggle a little bit, scuba dive, read mostly non fiction as I matured, am in import business.

My main concern now is the state of our native language. I fear we may have neglected our mother tongue to the point of loosing the literary beauty & majesty of the mother tongue! Am actively lobbying to improve this status by joining forces with like minded people and we have formed " Maldivian Writers' Association" My older 2 kids are university students and the youngest is in secondary. I enjoy a very happy and quiet married life, wal hamdh lillahi.
