Hi, my name is Alvin and I was abandoned as a puppy but luckily I was taken in by the very kind people at www.DogsInDistress.org and they found me a new home, only problem was that the new home was in Cork (Ireland) and well took a bit of getting used to the accent "ya know bouy".

Many of the dogs Dogs In Distress rescue from the pound have developed illnesses or were already ill before being brought to the pound. Veterinary care is the largest part of their expenditure. On average they spend €2000-€3000 per month. This does not include vaccinations, worming or micro chipping. This is just to deal with sick pups, adults and those needing operations
