Elena Afanasieva is a member of the Russian Union of Artist, the International Art Foundation, international Academy of Science of nature and Society.

She was born in Moscow in 1940. She graduated from the Graphic Art Faculty of the Moscow State Pedagogical Institute in 1964.

Since the 1970s, she has actively participated in various exhibition at home and in countries such as poland, france, england and Germany.

She painted in both oil and watercolor, subjects are still life, landscape and portrait.

many her paintings are in private collections in Russia, lithuania, germany, Belgium, USA, Czech Republic, canada, spain, Sweden, France, England, Australia, Austria, and Japan.

She has worked as an instructor and currently holds the title of "master instructor" at Children's Art School No.1, one of the oldest art school in Moscow.
