Tony Belobrajdic is an artist in the true sense of the word. From Rijeka, a city and port on arguably the most beautiful coast in Europe, to New York and then on to Australia, one could be forgiven in thinking of an artist satisfied in painting living-room friendly coastal scenes. Tony however, paints flesh, steely grey skies, railway stations, people in situations totally unrelated to what many to expect to find on a living-room wall. Of course you can find beautiful town subject-matter and landscapes in Tony's work, but it becomes clear to me that the artist is painting what he sees through his own experiences. He is in charge and will not mar his work with striving to be accepted by whatever the public's perception of beauty may be. I take my hat off to you fellow painter, Mike.
