I'm an amateur photographer in Athens, Ohio. In 2006 I took the plunge and bought my first Digital SLR; a Nikon D50. This camera really unleashed my creative side, and I take my camera bag almost everywhere I go to get that utopian "perfect" shot.

In mid-2007, I sold my beloved D50 and upgraded my body to a D80. My main reason for the upgrade was because the D80 has many little features that I wished the D50 had. Such as ISO 100, grid lines, backlit panel, dedicated bracketing button, and higher resolution sensor. I need the 10 MP because sometimes I crop heavily (see my full moon shots). At nearly the same time, I also picked up the jack-of-all-trades 18-200mm VR Nikkor. I invested in this lens because I don't have much money to buy dedicated lenses. This will have to do for the next couple years.

So far I have two of my photographs published on the front page of local newspapers (see my published photographs here: The Athens News & The Athens Messenger). I've also been hired to shoot professionally by a student film crew as the set photographer. All in all, I still feel small compared to all the amazing photographers in Flickr. I marvel at the talent and skill of some members I find here.
