Serious-ish hobbyist photographer since 2011. I'm a shooter of all things from aircraft to waterfalls and most things in between! These days I probably would say my two main genres are architecture and people, although I will try my hand at everything.
In terms of awards I'm a BPE2* at the moment, I have varying success in these competitions and still haven't really found the sweet spot. In 2015 I gained a Licentiate Distinction from the Royal Photographic Society, and am trying to put together a panel for an Associateship - first attempt just before Covid hit, second attempt will be hopefully sometime in 2023. I've been a member of Buckingham Camera Club since late 2011, and have won the Club Photographer of the Year Award in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2018.
My kit? In 2011 I started growing my kit as well moving from a Nikon D40X to a D7000 body with a simple but effective Tamron 18-270mm superzoom. Over time I've moved through the D600 (and D610 thanks to Nikon's upgrade!) and then the D750. All of the F-mount kit has now departed and I'm an early-adopter of the Nikon Z7, I wouldn't look back now - it's sublime. I have a variety of Z-mount lenses from primes (35 and 85mm f/1.8 and 50mm f/1.2) to zoom lenses (24-120mm f/4, 100-400mm and 14-30mm f/4). The only remaining F-mount lens is the fisheye which I keep for quirky value here and there.
I enjoy all sorts of photography, and hope you enjoy my pictures. I have my own website at www.eatshootfly.com. You can also follow me on Twitter @eatshootfly, or Like my page on Facebook www.facebook.com/eatshootfly!
