I spent my career working freelance in graphic design here in London but these days I try to let the ideas dictate what I make, rather than the other way around. Sometimes that means paint or collage, other times it's photography or assemblage. I also work with Collectivizm www.collectivizmlondon.com/ a creative partnership we started in 2014.

Mostly, I just make work out of curiosity. I never start with a fully formed idea in mind. I usually just test a concept and let it change as I go. You end up with a piece that shows all the adding, subtracting, and second-guessing it took to get there. I like that. I’m interested in how materials hold onto their histories and imperfections, similar to how our own memories shift over time rather than staying fixed.

Right now, I'm interested in exploring how music can inspire a painting. I expect that will evolve again eventually. The work is really just a record of trying to figure things out, adjusting and readjusting until something finally feels right.
