addadada has been a shock to me! His intelligence, his wit, his humor, his incredible ability to find new angles at life, to consider worthy "unworthy" things. He knows Paris and France as many French or Parisians will never be able to because he also feels situations and judges people with infallible flair. He has often proved to be the first one to comment a photo in my sets that everybody had not noticed yet. He has often proved to be the first one to understand and appreciate the humor I saw in a situation. This is how he shocked me, positively! And then, his work!!! I say work because he is the first photographer that I meet that you cannot judge on one picture or a few pictures. You have to visit dozens or hundreds of his pics to understand his work: he is a gatherer. Some years ago, a film in France "LES GLANEURS ET LA GLANEUSE", from Agnès VARDA had a huge success. It showed the world of people who use to sift through the remains in a morning market and use what others have discarded. addadada makes his honey from all the pollen he gathers relentlessly. And he makes us smile and laugh and think. I cherish his prolixity, his originality and his creativity. I cherish his friendship! Merci, mon ami!

Adda, this is the first testimonial I have done for anyone on here - and I am happy to say a few words about you. You have a wealth of knowledge of the cultural history that I excites me and which I find fascinating. I would have loved to have experienced the 70s clubs and scene as you had. However, I think that I would possibly not be here today, if that were the case. There is an air of Baron Munchausen (or even Zelig - right place, right time) to your stories - I am not saying that they are untrue, but you are a natural raconteur and a genuine eccentric - qualities I absolutely adore in a person. Yes, I would call Addadada a friend, if I may say so.
