I am an amateur photographer based in Melbourne Australia with a preference for atmospheric and historical locations, abstraction and the macabre.

I find myself drawn diversely to strong architectural statements, to the textures and patterns on worn machinery and the decomposition of surfaces. Erosion, rust and nature’s subtle intrusions. An old car, burnt out and left to rust is as likely an image source as a moss covered headstone.

I would like to spend a lot more time behind the lens than I get to so a great deal of my photography is performed whilst on holidays that are, inevitably, constructed around locations that appeal to my aesthetic and offering a wealth of inspirational subject matter.

I think I would say I am a creative and technical person in equal measure. Although I have no formal photographic or arts training, only taking up photography in a serious way a few years ago after catching the bug on my first overseas trip in 2006, photography has grown into a real passion that I cultivate whenever and wherever I can.
