I've suddenly found that I'm lost in myself.

Photography is a way for me to capture what is going on in my life the way that I experience it. The world doesn't stop and wait for me to write something down, so I choose to photograph it instead. Everything is immediately captured; no lengthy recording process, no missed details. Everything is instantly caught in all its glory with every little tiny detail retained. It's truly the best way to make your memories.

I have a camera everywhere I go. It's like a part of me that I can't be without; I feel awkward without one. My inspiration is my life - anything and everything that I come across. I've run across times in my life (though there are very few) where I, for whatever reason, did not have a camera, and I missed amazing shots. It's a terrible feeling to know that you missed something worth photographing. When the camera has grown into a piece of you, when it becomes something that people can't imagine you without, when it begins to be the first thing that pops into people's heads when they think of you, you are able to capture the essence of life and those little instances that make your world unique. People no longer react with, “Oh, that person's pointing a camera at me. I think I'll pose.” Instead, it becomes, “Oh that's just [insert photographer's name here]. They're always playing with their camera.” The world stops posing and ignores your presence. The camera becomes part of the crowd, part of the mess and chaos that is human existence. You capture the pure essence of the soul on the film, see the inner workings of the mind through the viewfinder, discover yourself when you click the shutter. That is why I love photography, why I became a photographer, why I am never without a camera. There is just too much to miss.

Sorry I haven't been uploading much of anything lately. I've been using mostly film recently, and I just haven't gotten around to developing any of it yet. You can find all my new stuff on my Facebook page. Don't worry, I haven't abandoned Flickr. This is just where my personal favorites and the best of the best will go.
