Hi, thanks for visiting.

Vision

Seeing

... Powerful Words. Humans are built to SEE the world. To evaluate it. To make sense of it. Our eyes, do we believe them? Hell yes we do! (That is why it is fun to trick them sometimes) Our eyes are by far our primary sensory organ. We all know beauty when we see it, even babies do. They love to look at pretty faces. We sort of remember beauty, like some kind of truth we knew before. A certain Symmetry. A Codec. An inner secret. We crave it. We seek it. Now we can create it and share it. Wonderful. How great it is that photography can train us to see? To see beauty. To see love. To see life. Glorious.

The pictures I'm seeing on here - especially my contacts and favorites - are incredible. I'm amazed some of them are using the same camera I am! I have much to learn. Thank you my flickr friends, contacts and viewers for the comments and invites, you guys rock! I am sorry if I don't get back to your comments, flickr takes a lot of time even when you don't mean it to.

My tips: Want Interesting? Be Interested! My eyes are always roving around looking for something neat. Get CLOSER - leave out plenty for the viewer to fill in. Composing, is connected to interesting - I frame until only the interesting is left. Crop it till you got it. A good rule is the Golden Mean. I offset and divide into thirds. Think of the patterns in sunflowers and seashells, it is everywhere in nature. Circles and angles are always jumping out at me too here in the City.

Flickr Tips: Been here awhile. Got a few in Explore. Learned a thing or two. If you've read this far, may as well share. Hehee.

Make quality contacts. People that've got in Explore. Make a quality favorites list. Favorite the photos that really pop. I have 9 times as many favorites as uploaded photos. I want my favorite set to reflect what I admire most in photography, for one reason or another.

Edit the hell out of what you upload. Leave the boring, pedestrian stuff somewhere else. I only upload the cream of my crop here. Keep it interesting, eh? =)

Join some quality groups and make comments on the really best of the litter shots. Add them as contacts too if you admire their style..

Don't forget lots of accurate tags on your pics. Yahoo image search will use them to bring viewers to your photo as well as other flickr users. I try to convey information, moods or ideas from comments even. Every photo has a few concepts going on.

Send your pics to a nice set of groups, but not too many! never more than 10 really. A good shot will get comments and invites from your good contacts is what you're aiming for.

Don't upload too many shots at once. One every other day seems about optimal. Give people a chance to comment on one upload at a time. Flooding your stream isn't a good idea if you're hunting for explore!

Make lots of comments, faves and invites! Try to get your friends and contacts into Explore! Gotta give a little to get a little. The way the world goes 'round.

And finally a caveat - beware that you don't forget by getting so caught up in flickr commenting and self-promotion that the object of this exercise is being true to your own artistic self.

Testimonials

wandart says:

Finally looked at the entire collection. What a sense of vision! Whether containing barren, inanimate or textured starkness or rich lifebeings, the completeness of dark, light, color, shape, subject, it all creates an emotional weave. I again understand beauty more profoundly. Thanks, Adam!

Even though I have only known Adam a short while, I feel I can write this testimonial because his work is wonderfully awesome. Visiting his photo stream is like visiting an art gallery. His images range from the pure,to the tweaked. When it comes to color styling, no one tells Adam what to do. He uses high saturated colors, low saturated colors, monochrome, duo tone, he writes with light, he writes with dark, uses color as subject, patterns as subject, and he sees shots that I will never be able to see. His stream is a must see, but please be sure to check out his dynamic, and powerful, architecture shots. They are some of the best. In closing I will say, photographers like Adam, make the Flickr world go around, and an exciting place to visit.
