In the forest there are no far horizons. Everything is close to me. Look up at the sky, treetops or look down to the floor. It is claustrophobic but safe, too. I am envious sometimes of grand vistas I see on flickr and other sites. I try to capture the nature of this place because that is all there is here. With all this surrounding me, it is difficult not to be repetitive. But the forest changes over and over and the subjects change along.

July 2017: I have left he woods. I am gone due to illness. I will miss the natural beauty of the wilderness but my memories are firmly embedded. My photographic subjects will change. I am ready for this last chapter.
