Access Artefacts is the education loans service at Nottingham City Museums and Galleries. We have a collection of over 11,000 museum objects that are all available for loan, for use in the classroom or with community groups.

The collection is predominantly a social history collection, with everyday objects from roughly the past 200 years, but with a lot of objects that are even older. There are also sizeable amounts of ethnography, books, archaeology and biological specimens, as well as around 400 mounted taxidermy specimens, historical models and other assorted objects. They are all suitable for handling.

The collection includes themed resource boxes that contain original and replica artefacts, activities and information, specially developed for use in the classroom or with community groups, including boxes on Victorian Life, the World Wars, Tudors, Ancient Egyptians, Romans, Ancient Greeks, Prehistory and many more!

We are in the process of photographing the collection, so keep checking back to see the latest uploads! If you'd like to make a booking or would like to come to our store near Wollaton Park and view the collection then please feel free to get in touch:
